5.5 Transparent and glass materials
For materials that require transparency, you can use options like the
Glass BSDF and Transparency BSDF. With the Transparency BSDF, you
will get materials with a simple effect that doesn't divert light (Figure
5.22).

In case you need more sophisticated transparency, you should pick the
Glass BSDF. The shader has two settings that will help you achieve a
more realistic effect:
IOR: An index that controls the refraction of light.
Roughness: Here, you can control the smoothness of your
surface reflection. Values close to zero will create a polish glass
surface, and higher values will make it look grainy.
